Volleyball sweeps tri match with 3-2 win over William Patterson and 3-1 win over MSMC
Newburgh, NY- The MCLA Women's Volleyball team wrapped up a road trip with a sweep in today's tri match hosted by Mount Saint Mary's. The Trailblazers defeated William Patterson 3-2 and then took care of the hosts 3-1 in the finale. With the wins, MCLA evens their mark at 9-9 on the season.
Allison Clark was outstanding notching 43 kills on the afternoon including a career best 32 in the opening win over WPU.
MCLA took care of the Pioneers after dropping the first two sets. They fell behind 25-22, 25-23 before rallying to take the third and fourth sets by scores of 25-17 and 27-25. They would close out the win by winning the decisive fifth set 15-9.
Clark notched her 32 kills on just 54 attacks. She added a team best 22 digs as well. Rebecca Godbout added 11 kills while Beatrice Lechler racked up a career high 47 assists. Taylor Wiese chipped in with 21 assists while Chanielle Enomoto had 20 digs in the win.
In the nightcap, MCLA took the first two sets 25-20 and 25-21 before falling 25-17 in the third. They would close out MSMC 28-26 in the fourth set.
Clark had 11 kills and 9 digs in the win while Casey Malzahn added 7 kills. Lechler and Wiese combined for 36 assists.
The Trailblazers return home on Tuesday night when they host Sage in non conference action.
