HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game #1
- Framingham State plated the first run of the game three batters into the opening frame. Massimo Mondi opened the game with a walk and then stole second base. Two batters later JC Espinal singled back through the middle to pick up the RBI.
- Espinal drove in the Rams other runs in the top of the fifth with another single through the middle of the infield, scoring Massimo Mondi and Christian Cox.
- The Trailblazers scored their lone run of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning after freshman shortstop Roshan Warriar (Pittsfield, MA) and Matthew Castillo (Ozone Park, NY) both worked walks. Senior third baseman Joshua Bissaillon (East Greenbush, NY) then looped a single into right centerfield bringing Warriar home.
- The Rams Cam Prescott limited MCLA to two hits in five and a third innings to even his record at 2-2. Keith Ramsey went the remaining one and two third innings without allowing a base runner to record his second save of the year.
- MCLA's Aidan Brett (Seymour, CT) went six and two thirds, allowing three runs on seven hits and striking out five, but still saw his record fall to 0-4.
- Game #2
- With the second game being a Framingham "home" game, the teams traded places and MCLA scored the first run of the game in the top of the first inning. Freshman outfielder Ben Jacob (Pittsfield, MA) earned a one-out walk and moved to second on a single to centerfield by Matthew Castillo. Bissaillon then picked up the RBI with a single over the second baseman's head into right-center field.
- The Trailblazers expanded their lead in the second inning, scoring two. Sophomore second baseman Jacob Olson (Holden, MA) started the rally with a single into left field and then freshman catcher Caleb Welcome (Rensselaer, NY) advanced him with a single through the hole between second and third. Rafael Castillo, Jr. followed with a double to the right-center field gap, moving Welcome to third, and Olson around to score. Two batters later Jacob then brought Rafael Castillo around with a single down the right field line to conclude a ten pitch at-bat.
- The Rams would respond with two runs of their own in the bottom of the frame thanks to an inside the park two-run home run by Dane Frellick. The Rams also added another run in the bottom of the third inning to tie the game at three all when JC Espinal plated Rosco Palmer.
- MCLA responded in the top of the next inning, putting up a three spot. Olson started the inning by reaching on a dropped third strike and advancing to second when the catcher's throw to first was too high. Three batters later Warriar singled down the rightfield line to score Olson. After Warriar stole second and scored when Jacob singled into right field. Another stolen base by Jacob preceded a single into center field by Matt Castillo.
- The Trailblazers added an insurance run in the top of the seventh. Joe Sardo (Great Neck, NY) began the inning with a walk and moved to second on a passed ball and scored two batters later on a sharply hit infield single.
- MCLA's Nate Morse scattered five hits in four and two thirds to pick up the win and moving his record to 3-3. The Rams' Joshua Sunderland allowed six runs, three earned in three and two third innings, falling to 0-4.
