SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.— Poised to make a second round charge up the leaderboard, the MCLA Golf team will have to be satisfied with its 19th place finish in yesterday's first round of the 2024 Skidmore Fall Invitational as rain forced organizers to cancel Sunday's second round at the Saratoga State Park Golf Course.

St. Lawrence University (+10, 298) won the team championship by four strokes over Williams College, Tufts University and host Skidmore College. MCLA finished with a score of +41 (329).

Skidmore's Tate Esler and St. Lawrence's Ben Scholes shared medalist honors with a 1-under 71 edging out Alex Moller by one stroke (E, 72).

MCLA was led by Mat Gover who finished tied in 15th place with a 4-over 76 while fellow Trailblazers Cody White (+11, 83), Alex Ferris (+13, 85) and Easton Moore (+13, 85) also had solid performances.

The Trailblazers will be back in action next weekend competing at the NEIGA Championship at The Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Mass.
