Men’s Soccer Drop Home Opener to Eastern Connecticut State University

NORTH ADAMS, Mass.—The MCLA Men's Soccer team welcomed Eastern Connecticut State University to Shewcraft Field for the Trailblazers home opener. The visiting Warriors scored three goals in a span of 12 minutes in the first half before holding on for a 3-0 win over the Trailblazers.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • ECSU scored all three goals in a 12-minute stretch of the first half. Noah Page broke the seal on the game, scoring with an assist from Niall O'Brien in the 13th minute.
  • Less than two minutes later, Josh Bouchard doubled the Warriors lead with assists credited to O'Brien and Anton Smith in the 15th minute.
  • Smith scored the game's final goal in the 25th minute unassisted.
  • ECSU goalkeeper Nathan Yeich stopped all four shots on net to even his record at 1-1-0. Trailblazers' keeper Ryan Taylor (Plattsburgh, NY) saw his record drop to 0-2-0 while picking up five saves.

On Saturday, MCLA will be back in action when they travel to meet Russell Sage for a non-conference matchup with the Gators at the Albany College of Pharmacy Athletic Complex. The teams will take the pitch for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
