WORCESTER, Mass. — The MCLA Men's Soccer Team took to the road this afternoon, meeting up with the Worcester State University Lancers at John Coughlin Field. Worcester scored a pair of early first-half goals before hanging on for a 2-0 edge over the Trailblazers.

  • Series History: MCLA leads the all-time series 24-17-7, despite the Lancers taking last season's matchup in North Adams by a score of 1-0 on October 11, 2024. Worcester also won the first-ever meeting of the teams 1-0 on October 12, 1968.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Lancers scored both of their goals in the opening frame. The first tally went to Worcester State's Wilber Garcia (6th minute, unassisted) while the second was credited to Brian Arias (18th minute, unassisted).
  • Trailblazers' keeper Oliver LeLacheur (Medford, MA) stood tall through the afternoon, stopping 11 of the 13 shots on goal that he faced, but still saw his record drop to 2-6-0. The keeper tandem of Tobias Schneider and Zach Nelson combined to keep a clean sheet, with Schneider stopping both of MCLA's shots on net and moved to 3-5-0.
