MCLA Sweeps Mass. Maritime
North Adams, MA- The Trailblazers swept the visiting team Mass. Maritime Buccaneers with a pair of shutouts this afternoon at the Williams College complex. The Trailblazers have bumped up their record to 9-15 and are now 6-2 in conference. The Buccaneers drop to 2-10 in their season and are 0-10 in conference.
Amanda Meczywor earned both shutouts in today's doubleheader. She stayed confident on the mound only letting up one hit in the first game and had five strike outs the second game.
Abigail Lucas started off the Trailblazers runs with a single that brought home Michaela DiNicola. From there the Trailblazers continued their lead adding six more runs including a homerun by Seirra Baily that brought in three runs. MCLA would bring in another run in the second and in the third. Final score was MCLA 8-0 in five innings.
In the second game, both teams went scoreless until the second when Juliana Watson singled and brought in two runs. Errors by the Buccaneers ended up costing them two more runs in the inning, putting the Trailblazers ahead 4-0. The Trailblazers would go on to scoring three more runs in the sixth to pull ahead 7-0. Final score was 7-0 MCLA.
Dinicola went 2-2 in the first game while Angelica Perfido went 2-2 in the second game.
The Trailblazers are back in action Monday as they travel to Bridgewater State to take onthe Bears.
