MCLA tabs Farber as next Softball Coach

NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— Assistant Dean of Athletics and Recreation Laura Mooney has announced that Zack Farber has been hired as the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) head softball coach.

"We are extremely excited to welcome Zack Farber to MCLA as our new head softball coach," said Mooney. "At the end of an extended nationwide search, Zack shone through as the candidate we felt would be the best match for a team that we have high expectations for this upcoming season. He has a definite vision of how he wants to develop each student-athlete into a successful team, and I believe he has the passion and determination to make it happen."

Farber comes to MCLA following more than a decade of coaching experience which includes stints at Saugerties (NY) High School and several travel league softball programs including the South Riverdale Vipers, Mid-Hudson Rebels, Lady Dukes and the Saugerties Sonics where in 2024 the team went 41-8-1 leading to Farber and his assistant to earn ATEC/NFCA Travel Ball (Region I) Coaching Staff of the Year.

" I would like to thank Laura Mooney, Dot Houston, and the entire search committee for the opportunity to become a member of the MCLA community, said Farber. "I look forward to helping our student-athletes grow both on the field and in the classroom, while fostering a culture of excellence and unity within the MCLA softball program."

Farber will assume his duties on January 6th.
