Women's Basketball falls to Curry 56-43 as they begin second half of season
Milton, MA- Curry's Kathryn Dunn scored 15 points to lead the Colonels women's basketball team past MCLA 56-43 this afternoon in non conference play. Curry moves to 2-9 while MCLA begins their second semester play and is now 2-8.
MCLA led 19-18 after one quarter of action, but trailed just 29-28 at halftime. Curry took over for good though in the third quarter as they outscored MCLA 14-4 to open up a 43-32 edge with just ten minutes left to play.
The Curry defense continued their strong play as MCLA couldn't muster up enough offense to get back into the game giving the hosts the win.
MCLA was paced by Kylah Langston's team high 13 point effort. Olivia Pressley added 11 points while Brooke DiGennaro added 7 off the bench. MCLA could not overcome a 35% shooting effort and committed a season high 33 turnovers.
Curry was paced by Dunn's efforts. She was just 5-15 from the floor but added 13 rebounds to her stat line. Kaitlynn and Kirsten Smith each chipped in with 10 points apiece.
MCLA is off until next Saturday when they open conference play at Bridgewater State.
