HOW IT HAPPENED
- Before the fans could begin to warm up their seats, Plymouth State jumped out to an early lead with barely two minutes off the clock. Lilli Warnock (at 2:09, assisted by Emily Biggin and Katie Maloney) scored the first goal of the game. With just under four minutes to go in the opening frame, Libby Carter (16:02, Katie Porrello and Brenna Smith) doubled the Panthers' lead to 2-0, where it would stay into the first intermission.
- MCLA was able to halve that lead, making the most of a power play opportunity with just over two and a half minutes expired in the second period. Sophomore defenseman Rebekah Ade (Yucca Valley, CA / New Jersey Colonials) made the most of a flurry of activity in front of the net, notching her first goal of the season. Assists were credited to sophomore defensemen Summer Bissaillion (Blind River, ON / Sudbury Wolves) and Carlen Bertrand (Timmins, ON / Sudbury Wolves). The helpers were the fifth and seventh of the year for Bissaillion and Bertrand, respectively.
- The Panthers got the goal back and then some, scoring three more times before the second intermission. Warnock (11:01, Jamie Steinmetz), Robyn Grant (13:05, Porrello and Lauren McNeil), and Carter (17:44, Jacqueline Martin and Gracie Menicci) were all credited with goals
- In the third period, Plymouth added two more insurance goals, with Warnock (6:06, Biggin and Menicci) completing her hat trick and Laura Castronova (15:13, Emily DeSimone) adding a short-handed goal.
- The Panthers' Karlee Lehner stopped 16 of 17 shots to improve to 11-2-0. Junior goalie Juliette Barney (Braintree, MA / Anna Maria College) took the loss, falling to 3-6-0.
