HOW IT HAPPENED
- Worcester State jumped out to an early 3-0 lead on goals from Nora Wanamaker (3rd minute, assisted by Ella Tatarczuk), Ava Lemanski (18th minute, unassisted), and Wanamaker (18th minute, Jessica Forbes) again.
- MCLA clawed one goal back in the closing seconds of the first half, starting with a free kick by Catelyn Hodge (Schenectady, NY) that went over the top of the defense to feed Gwendolyn Duggan (Palmer, MA) for the Trailblazers' first shot of the evening. The shot was high, bouncing off the crossbar but directly to the foot of Addison Hayer (Adams, MA) in front of a wide open net. Hayer wasted no time with putting the ball in the net before the keeper could recover.
- The second half was tilted in the direction of the guests, with the Lancers adding on six more goals. The first two going to Olivia Magierowski (50th minute, unassisted and 57th minute, Lemanski), and the subsequent goals going to Lemanski (60th minute, unassisted), Shaen Smith (74th minute, unassisted), Erin Condon (75th minute, unassisted), and Sophie Farr (80th minute, unassisted).
- Worcester State's Ella Gumienny only needed to make one stop to improve her record to 5-2-1. MCLA's Destiny Alexandra Rivas (Leicester, MA) made 11 first half saves, but still saw her record fall to 2-5-0. Mallory Amirian (Haverhill, MA) added 11 more stops in the second half.
